A Little Chimeny Pot History

CHIMNEY POTS are a simple, inexpensive way to add height to a chimney and add ARCHITECTURAL interest to a home.

The concept of the CHIMNEY POTS developed in London during the reign of Elizabeth I.

A TRADITIONAL English home during this century would only have one fireplace with one chimney stack to heat one room. But, as the design of the traditional home slowing evolved from one room to many rooms, there developed a need to heat an entire house with only one chimney stack.

The SOLUTION - using multiple chimney pots on one stack that connected to each fireplace in the home.

By the 1660s, chimney pots flourished from a functional heating solution to a form of craftsmanship, later to be viewed as a status symbol.

The exterior of our client's home is coming along quite nicely.

Wavy wood to give the home an authentic, "old world" feel.

One of our clients asked Templetes to create a pantry space with

2.counter space

3. lots of storage

4. plenty of natural light

5. full fridge

WITHOUT knocking down any exterior walls and framing any windows.

We arose to the challenge!

Templetes Design approach is to always utilize space that is not currently being use. In this particular remodel the three car garage had room to spare with an existing window. Creating access through the laundry room we were able to accomplish exactly what our client wanted! It's amazing what you do with only

150 square feet!
