If you have looked in fall issue of Utah Style and Design, Designer Juidiith Clawson dresses a welcoming home with a rustic elegance and upbeat, contemporary character. 
" Plan your work and work your plan" certainly describes the approach taken designer Juidiith Clawson when she created the decor in this Park City Canyons Resort home. Clawson established two main objectives and set out to achieve them. First, her clients owners of the Wasatch Powderbird Guides heli-skiing company) asked her to design the home to comfortably sleep several guests at any given time, despite having only four bedrooms. Second, they wanted the home to reflect the natural beauty of the canyons without the typical mountain or European design of many resort dwelling.
A Pleasing Palette

Visual Enhancement
Color is a tool so don't be afraid to use it to unify
or delineate spaces. For example, this Canyon's
home's dining room, kitchen and living room share
one grand space with high ceiling. "By using one color
in all spaces, the large area seems cozier, " says Clawson.

The easiest thing to change in a home is the color palette,
so you if you want to refresh the look of your space,
color gives more look for less buck.
" Colorful Fabrics and artwork create the wow
factors that make a room pop", say Clawson.
"Experiment with daring color combinations
to really make a statement.

says Clawson. For example, soothing orche
can enhance and uplift your spirits on snowy,
grayday, while a blue gray tone can create
the effect of an introspective coastal morning.

Before committing to a color, paint an small
section of the wall and watch how it changes throughout
the day with different exposures to sun. " Make sure you
see the color once the paint of varnish has dried, " advises Clawson.
" It can be surprising how dramatically wet and dry paint differ."

colored backdrop comes into sharper focus and takes on a
new identity. Colors help transform the perceived space.
Light colors bring elements to the foreground, while darker colors tend
